Felon Takes Shotgun From Resident, Goes to Jail: Police Blotter

This 52-year-old took a firearm from a resident who hired him off Craigslist, according to police.

A 52-year-old Lombard man is headed to court after taking a shotgun from a resident, police said.

Timothy James Haiges, of the 100 block of West Willow, was charged with two counts of unlawful use or possession of a weapon by a felon. He remains in the DuPage County Jail on $20,000 bond, according to jail records.

Haiges took a shotgun from a resident on the 100 block of East Maple Street. The resident hired Haiges through Craigslist to help her pack and load household items, according to police. The theft occurred sometime between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. June 13.

Police located Haiges and the shotgun was recovered from his residence. Previous charges against him include criminal trespassing, resisting police and forgery, according to court records.

Haiges was booked into the county jail on June 14. The next court date for his case is June 25.
