$1,800 Purse with $1,000 Wallet Taken at Whole Foods

SUNDAY, AUG. 25

Tires Slashed on 3 Vehicles

Someone slashed the front and rear passenger side tires on a resident's three vehicles on the 600 block of South Monroe. The incident occurred sometime between 10 p.m. Aug. 24 and 10:10 a.m. Aug. 25 while the vehicles were parked in a driveway. A case is pending.

FRIDAY, AUG. 23

Leaf Blower Stolen

Someone stole a $400 leaf blower from a man's landscaping trailer on the 300 block of North Elm. The incident occurred sometime between 11:45 a.m. and noon. A case is pending.

THURSDAY, AUG. 22

Pricey Purse, Wallet Taken at Whole Foods

An $1,800 purse was reported missing at Whole Foods Market on the 500 block of East Ogden Avenue. The incident occurred sometime between 2:14 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. The owner said she came into the store with her purse, but was unable to locate it when she went to pay for her groceries.

The purse contained a wallet valued at $1,000, which contained $80 cash, an iPhone, an ID and credit cards. A case is pending.

WEDNESDAY, AUG. 21

Institute Window Damaged

A white female teenager about 15 years old damaged a window to a building on the Institute in Basic Life Principles property on the 900 block of North Madison, police said. The suspect left in a black mid-size SUV, according to a report at 7:40 p.m.

The Institute was founded in 1961 and hosts a variety of programs ranging from daily meditative emails to long-term mission trips, according to its website. A 16-year-old girl went missing from the Institute in April, but was later found safe in Chicago
