Speeding Teen Cited for Underage Drinking

Hinsdale police reports, Oct. 29-Nov. 4.

SATURDAY, NOV. 2

Underage Drinking

Two 16-year-old juveniles were cited with illegal consumption of alcohol, police said, after officers pulled over two vehicles that were traveling at a high speed near the intersection of Ogden Avenue and Washington Street at 9:31 p.m. and observed the juveniles—a Hinsdale male who was driving one of the vehicles and a Clarendon Hills female who was a passenger in the other—to be under the influence of alcohol.

The male juvenile submitted to a breath test that showed he had consumed alcohol, but his blood-alcohol level was not above .08. Police said he was cited for illegal consumption of alcohol, zero tolerance, illegal transportation of alcohol—a container was found in the vehicle—and speeding.

The female passenger in the other vehicle was charged only with illegal consumption of alcohol. The driver of that vehicle was cited for speeding and transporting an unlawful number of passengers.
