Woman Gets Driving Citations, Then Sent to Jail on Warrants: Police Blotter

SUNDAY, JUNE 23

He Had to Go

Someone at 11:24 p.m. reported a man walking a bike and urinating outside on Walker Avenue at Park Avenue. Police spoke with the person reporting, who said he or she lost the man on the 300 block of Ridge Avenue. Police did not find the man — it was not known whether the man lived on Ridge or ducked out of sight between houses.

Sleepy at the Train Station

An officer at 12:19 a.m. noticed someone asleep on a bench on the north train platform at Burlington and Prospect avenues. It was a man who missed his stop in La Grange and ended up in Clarendon Hills, according to police. The officer called a cab to take the man home, which was actually located in Western Springs. He was intoxicated but otherwise OK, police said.

Help the Giant Turtle

A giant turtle was reported at 8:22 p.m. on the street between a house and an apartment complex at Eastern and Park avenues. The turtle was assisted across the street into a creek, according to police.


SATURDAY, JUNE 15

Woman Cited, Then Sent to Jail

Shamika S. Kroger, 21, of the 1500 block of South Kostner Avenue, Chicago, was cited for the following: 

  • Driving while license suspended or revoked
  • Driving while registration suspended
  • Display of expired registration

Kroger was arrested at 4:08 a.m. on Route 83 southbound at West Chicago Avenue. She bonded out of the citations ticket, but she had three outstanding DuPage County warrants and was transported to DuPage County Jail before being released, according to police.
