Abbey Bott's Family Releases Statement to Hinsdale Central Community
Abbey Bott, who graduated from Hinsdale Central last spring, was found dead Sunday afternoon in her Indiana University dorm.
The family of Abigail Bott released a statement Monday afternoon regarding the death of the 18-year-old Clarendon Hills native Sunday on the Indiana University campus in Bloomington.
"It is with the greatest of sadness that we acknowledge the death of our beloved daughter and sister, Abbey," reads the family statement distributed through a Hinsdale Central community email. "Abbey passed away in her sleep on Sunday, October 6, 2013. The cause of her death is unknown and is under investigation at this time. We ask that you offer prayers for us and all those whom you hold dear. Final arrangements will be announced as soon as they are available."

Hinsdale Central Interim Principal Tom Paulsen said in the email that the entire Hinsdale Central community is "saddened" over the death of the 2013 graduate and that the school extends its "heartfelt sympathy" to the Bott family.

"The Hinsdale Central student body has been informed of this loss and our student services staff has been and will continue to be available for anyone who may be in need of support," Paulsen writes. "This support will be available for as long it is needed."
