Clarendon Hills Library announces the 2nd Annual Edible Book Contest

The Clarendon Hills Library is seeking clever cooks and hungry readers to participate in the second annual Edible Book Contest on Saturday, July 13th--a celebration of literature, art and food.

What is an edible book?  It's any representation of a book title that is made primarily from edible materials.  It can be as fancy as an elaborately decorated cake or as simple as a hot dog in a beer mug (Frankenstein?).  This is a chance to have fun and be creative.  For more ideas, just search "edible books" on your computer.

Awards will be made in the following categories:  Children entering 5th grade or younger, young adults entering grades 6-12, college age and up, and families.  There will also be a "People's Choice" award voted on by the public.

To receive a reminder email or phone call before the event, you may register at www.clarendonhillslibrary.org, although pre-registration is not required.  Entries should be dropped off at the library between 11 am and noon on Saturday, July 13th.  Awards will be given out at 2 pm, and then the feasting will begin!  For more information, check the library's website, or call 630-323-8188.
