Christine Cuthbert, Neighbor

Cuthbert founded www.SavvyHinsdale.com, a virtual meeting place for local women, in March 2011. This free site offers area women the chance to share ideas and information as well as learn about community events, services and more. Need a babysitter or a new lawn care service but want a solid recommendation and not just an ad placed in the paper? At SavvyHinsdale.com ask and you will receive countless contacts from women right here in our community. The core idea is to bring the amazing women and services in our community together, and partnering with Adventist Hinsdale Hospital, Savvy has already hosted two free community-wide events. We're planning more for 2012.

Prior to staying home with her son, John Connor, Cuthbert worked as the Associate Editor at The Hinsdalean Newspaper from 2008-2010. During her time there she won awards from the Illinois Press Association and the Northern Illinois Newspaper Association for her work. She has a bachelor's degree in journalism from California State University, Chico and originally grew up in the Monterey Bay Area of California.

Prior to residing in Hinsdale, Cuthbert traveled the country with her husband, Mark, while he served in the military and attended business school. While moving around she worked at numerous local newspapers including the Kentucky New Era and The Harbus at Harvard Business School. 

Her involvement in the community includes sitting on the board of both Hinsdale Junior Woman's Club and the Hinsdale Historical Society Woman's Board.

In her spare time she enjoys wine, spending time with family and friends, community involvement, entertaining, traveling and embarassingly terrible reality TV.
