Student Found With Pot at Hinsdale Central: Police Blotter

Hinsdale police reports, Feb. 20-26.

MONDAY, FEB. 25 A 16-year-old male Hinsdale Central student from Willowbrook was charged with possession of cannabis, police said, after an employee of the school determined he had the drug at 10 a.m. and called police. The substance field-tested positive for cannabis and the student was cited for violating a local ordinance. He was released to appear in court. SUNDAY, FEB. 24 Leon Francisco, 45, of the 2900 block of Willow Street, Franklin Park, was charged with DUI, police said, after he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol during a 2:13 a.m. traffic stop in the 100 block of East Ogden Avenue, and refused an ensuing breath test. 2 Middle-Schoolers Charged with Pot Possession: Police Blotter

Hinsdale police reports, Jan. 8-14.

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 9 Two 13-year-old boys, one from Hinsdale and one from Burr Ridge, were charged with possession of cannabis after they were found with the drug while at Hinsdale Middle School at 8:48 a.m., police said. School officials reported to police that while on school grounds the two teens were in possession of a green leafy substance they determined was cannabis. The boys were charged by police as juveniles and released to their parents. A resident from the 500 block of North Vine Street reported to police that plastic Christmas decorations on their property valued at $170 were damaged between 9 p.m. Jan. 8 and 5 p.m. Jan. 9. SUNDAY, JAN. 6 John. A Sesemann, 18, of the 300 block of Hudson Avenue, Clarendon Hills, was charged with possession of cannabis and drug equipment after police said they responded at 3:57 p.m. to a report of a male smoking cannabis in Woodland Park. MONDAY, DEC. 24 A resident from the first block of Golf Avenue reported at 1:24 p.m. that someone cut the electric cords on Christmas lights that were lighting two trees in front of their home some time that morning or afternoon, police said.  SATURDAY, DEC. 22 William J. Meidinger, 19, of the 4600 block of Clausen Avenue in Western Springs, and Corey J. Jefko, 18, of the 4500 block of Gilbert Avenue in Western Springs, were charged with possession of cannabis after a traffic stop for driving with one tail light near the intersection of Stonegate and Ogden avenues at 1:46 a.m., police said. Meidinger, the driver, was also charged with driving without a valid license and without insurance, police said. THURSDAY, NOV. 22 A 17-year-old male from Hinsdale was charged with possession of cannabis and several other offenses after he was spotted in Highland Park on Nov. 22 at 12:08 a.m., after the park had closed, and fled from an officer who approached him, police said. The juvenile was located shortly after and taken into custody. Police said he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and was in possession of chewing tobacco and a substance that tested positive for cannabis. He was charged with possession of cannabis, possession of tobacco, resisting/obstructing an officer, violation of park hours and unlawful use of alcohol. He was released to a parent. TUESDAY, NOV. 20 Thomas Lagor, 23, of the 700 block of West Wilson Lane, Hinsdale, was cited with a local ordinance violation for possession of cannabis after the smell of burnt cannabis was detected in his vehicle during a speeding stop near the intersection of 55th Street and Clarendon Hills Road at 10:17 p.m., and police said the drug was found in his possession. Police said Lagor was charged with speeding, as well. He was released to appear in court. FRIDAY, OCT. 26 Liam J. Sorensen, 18, of the 100 block of south East Avenue, Oak Park, was charged with disorderly conduct and illegal consumption of alcohol at 10 p.m., police said. He appeared to be under the influence of alcohol when he was found with a smoke bomb similar to one set off underneath the home bleachers at Hinsdale Central’s Dickinson Field during Friday night’s playoff football game against Oak Park-River Forest, police said. SUNDAY, OCT. 14 Thomas C. Bouton, 32, of the 600 block of Hillside Drive, Hinsdale, was charged with DUI and battery, police said. He appeared to be under the influence of alcohol during a speeding stop near 55th and Garfield streets at 2:16 a.m. but refused a breath test, police said. Deputy Chief Mark Wodka said Bouton made “assaultive statements” toward the officer booking him at the police station, and then attempted to strike him. After he was restrained, Bouton grabbed the hand of the officer—contact police said they considered to be “of a provoking nature.” The officer was not injured. SUNDAY, SEPT. 30 Jeffrey S. Carlson, 27, of the 3700 block of north Hermitage Avenue, Chicago, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop near the intersection of Garfield Avenue and 4th Street at 1:51 a.m., police said. He refused an ensuing breath test. Carlson was charged with DUI, speeding and improper lane use, and was released to appear in court.
