Buckle Up: Hinsdale Police Honor Man Saved by Seatbelt
Mark Kusper of Stickney received the Hinsdale Police Department's Saved by the Belt award after he survived a head-on crash on Ogden Avenue.
The following is a release from the Hinsdale Police Department: The Hinsdale Police Department presented Mark Kusper of Stickney, IL with a Saved by the Belt award on Dec. 19, 2012 after he was involved in a motor vehicle crash on Oct. 5, but survived because he was buckled up at the time of the crash. “Mark Kusper is a living example that seat belts save lives,” Hinsdale Police Chief Brad Bloom said. “Hopefully, this public notice will remind others in the community of the importance of wearing seat belts while traveling in motor vehicles." Kusper was driving a Buick Century at approximately 3:19 p.m. on Oct. 5 in the westbound lanes of Ogden Avenue near Adams Street when he was struck head-on by a vehicle that was traveling eastbound …
