One-Car Crash Leads to Two DUI Arrests: Police Blotter

FRIDAY, DEC. 7 Responding to a report of a car crashing into a tree late Friday night, Hinsdale Police said they arrested two women and charged them with DUI. Witnesses said they saw Bethany Halperin, 36, of Hinsdale, driving the vehicle when it struck a tree near the intersection of North Street and Bruner Place at 10:51 p.m., according to the police report. Witnesses told police a passenger in the car, Roxanne Wallace, 22, of Westmont, then got behind the wheel and drove the vehicle into a nearby residential driveway, the report said. Halperin lives on Bruner Place. The officer responding to the crash observed both women under the influence of alcohol, according to police.
