Empty School Bus Involved in I-294 Accident
The Oak Brook Fire Department confirmed the accident near the intersection of I-294 and I-88, and crews have cleared the scene.
Updated at 3:32 p.m. The site of an accident on I-294 involving a school bus carrying no children is now clear, according to firefighter paramedic Dave Kornfeind of the Oak Brook Fire Department. Fire officials said the driver of the empty school bus lost control of the bus near on northbound I-294 near I-88 Tuesday afternoon just after 2 p.m. The bus was the only vehicle involved. The driver was transported to Elmhurst Memorial with minor injuries and the bus suffered only minor damage. The cause of the crash is unknown. Two lanes were closed for a period of time as the crash was cleared, Kornfield said.
