WEDNESDAY, FEB. 20 A customer of TCF Bank reported to police at 4:07 p.m. that, after depositing a check at the bank's branch at Jewel-Osco, the exact amount was withdrawn from the account by an unknown person the same day. Police said the victim filed a police report as part of the bank's reimbursement process. TUESDAY, FEB. 19 Police said four tickets to a March 9 Pink concert worth a combined $1,180 were stolen from a resident in the 0-100 block of Blodgett Avenue by an unknown person in October, after UPS delivered the tickets but before the resident picked them up. THURSDAY, FEB. 14 A male driver hit an unoccupied minivan parked in the 10 block of West 1st Street at 4:12 p.m. and drove off, police said, after damaging the minivan’s rear bumper. A witness saw the incident and told police the driver was a 5-foot-5 white male in his 20s with short brown hair in a rusted tan car. WEDNESDAY, FEB. 13 An office manager at Hinsdale Gastroenterology Associates, 907 N. Elm St., reported the theft of an envelope containing $20 in cash, a personal check and three charge receipts from a desk drawer in the office between 10:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., police said. FRIDAY, JAN. 18 An unknown male driver rear-ended a complainant’s car with his white Hummer H2 near the intersection of Ogden Avenue and Oak Street at 3:59 p.m., and then fled the scene without providing insurance information to the victim, police said. The driver is described as a white man in his 30s with dark, short hair. The case is currently pending. Vandals threw eggs at a house in the 200 block of Fuller road at 4:09 p.m. while yelling racial slurs at the resident, police said. The case is pending. WEDNESDAY, OCT. 24 A resident from the 200 block of Woodstock Avenue reported at 11:44 a.m. that two of three boxes delivered to his home by UPS were missing. UPS confirmed that three boxes were delivered, but police said the complainant reported receiving only one. There are no suspects. TUESDAY, OCT. 23 A resident from the 200 block of North Richmond Avenue reported his 22-inch flat screen TV stolen at 5:48 p.m. Police recovered the stolen TV at a Westmont pawn shop, where it had been sold by a known suspect for $50. SUNDAY, OCT. 14 A resident from the 5700 block of Concord Lane reported at 4:37 a.m. that someone had let the air out of her car's tires and rolled down the car's windows during an overnight rainstorm. The turn signal, cruise control and wheel tilt levers had all been damaged, as well. Police said they have a suspect, but nobody has been charged. The driver's side windows of two cars parked in the same area were shattered overnight between Oct. 13-14, and a $300 GPS device was stolen from one. TUESDAY, OCT. 9 David F. Shutack, 60, of the 300 block of West 59th Street, Hinsdale, was charged with driving on a suspended license and leaving the scene of an accident after police say he was involved in a hit-and-run accident in Hinsdale at 3:20 p.m. Shutack was stopped in Burr Ridge by Burr Ridge Police at 4:43 p.m. after his information was sent out on police radio. When he was stopped, police said, his car appeared to have fresh damage, and officers discovered his license was suspended. Shutack was released on bond to appear in court. TUESDAY, OCT. 2 Police are investigating the theft of several silver and gold household items from a home in the 100 block of Burlington Avenue, as well as a credit card from the home that was used without authorization. The theft was reported at 12:54 p.m. Police said they could not release any further details, as the investigation is ongoing. MONDAY, SEPT. 17 Armando Rodriguez, 38, of the 4800 block of south Keating Avenue, Chicago, was charged with theft after he admitted stealing a phone that belonged to a victim from the 400 block of north Monroe Street who had reported the theft, which took place at a gas station in Willowbrook, at 9:06 a.m. Sept. 17. Rodriguez was arrested in Willowbrook with the phone after the phone’s tracking software was used to locate it. He was released to appear in court. A Burr Ridge man was arrested in Hinsdale for driving under the influence and for fleeing the scene of an accident.
On Feb. 20 at 9:58 p.m. Hinsdale Police arrested Joseph P. Yopp, 41, of 708 Tomlin Dr. in Burr Ridge for driving under the influence, driving under the influence over .08 and for leaving the scene of an accident after he was involved in a car accident near 55th Street and County Line Road in Hinsdale. Due to the demonstrated severity of his impairment, a sobriety test was not administered, according to Hinsdale Police records.
