Central Girls Third at Class AA State Golf
Hinsdale Central girls golf team settles for third after impressive opening round start, falling behind New Trier and Homewood-Flossmoor.
FORSYTH—Hinsdale Central was aiming to play the ultimate spoiler role in the Red Devils' girls recent outing at the state golf tournament in Decatur. For the first time ever, the team eclipsed the magical 300 barrier at Hickory Point Golf Club. "I don't think we've ever been below 300," Central coach Janelle Marconi said. There was only one problem, however, with the Devils' achievement. Defending state champion Homewood-Flossmoor was collectively 3-under par to overshadow the Devils' unprecedented goal.
