Patch looks back at the week of Feb. 6 to Feb. 10 in DuPage County court: Clarendon Hills—A former Clarendon Hills Police Department officer accused of stealing guns from the department in 2007 appears headed for a possible plea agreement with prosecutors. Court records show Daniel Ryan is scheduled for a plea and sentencing during March 2 hearing. Ryan was indicted last year on aggravated possession of stolen firearms, theft and official misconduct charges. Ryan, 49, of Westmont, previously denied the charges after surrendering to authorities. Being heard at the DuPage County Courthouse this week are separate cases against two Downers Grove women accused of felony theft—one from a high school and one from a youth football program—and hearings are scheduled for the Darien triple-murder case and the Elmhurst attempted-murder case. Darien—Jacob Nodarse, charged with killing three members of a Darien family in March, is scheduled for a hearing on April 26. Co-defendant Johnny Borizov's attorneys have been describing their defense as going after Nodarse's mental health. Nodarse's attorney has objected to releasing some psychological records about his client. Darien—Patricia Johnson and Pamela Williams appear on April 28 for their first hearing since pleading guilty to several felony…

Officer Tom Lillie was promoted to the position of FIAT SWAT assistant team leader.
Officer Tom Lillie has been promoted to Assistant Team Leader for the Felony Investigative Assistance Team's Special Weaspons And Tactics team. Lillie is a tactical operator on the SWAT team and has been with the Hinsdale Police Department for eight years. Tactical officers train approximately 30 days a year, which include four full-team scenarios in the areas of school violence, hostage taking and domestic terrorism. Hinsdale Police Officer Mike Coughlin said it was no surprise to hear that Officer Lillie was promoted to the position. UPDATE: Hinsdale Investigator Assists in Murder-Suicide Case That Leaves Six-Year-Old and Grandparents Dead Julia A. Moore, 6, her grandmother Linda E. Brennan, 51, and Mark J. Chapman, 50, who was identified as the child's step-grandfather, were found dead of gunshot wounds at the scene of a double murder-suicide Friday morning. The DuPage County Coroner's office said Julia and her grandmother were shot multiple times. Chapman, who was Brennan's ex-husband, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head after leaving a hand-written note that stated he alone was responsible for the shootings. A six-year-old girl, who was a student at El Sierra School in Downers Grove, was among three people shot to death Nov. 19 in Apartment C at 515 W. 61st St., in Westmont. Julia A. A U.S. District Court has found Thomas James Zajac guilty of six felony charges that may keep him locked up for the rest of his life.
UPDATE: Hinsdale Police Chief Bradley Bloom said he is "very pleased with the verdict" of the U.S. District Court in Utah that convicted Thomas James Zajac on six felony counts related to the use and possession of an explosive device for purposes of damaging a building. Bloom and Det. Joe Rauen traveled from Hinsdale to Utah last Tuesday to testify on the similarities between the Utah bombing and one that took place in Hinsdale about two weeks prior to it on Sept. 1, 2006. "There are similarities in the Utah case to the one in Hinsdale and our contact with Mr. Zajac that are fairly compelling," Bloom said.
