Forest Park police reports said the men just purchased needles from Walgreens.
Three men were charged with heroin possession May 2 in the Forest Park Walgreens parking lot after buying needles in the store. Mazvydas Deltuva, 21, of Willowbrook; Rame Gjukaj, 22, of Westmont; and Matthew W. Vanek, 23, of Hinsdale, were all charged with possession of a controlled substance. A patron came into Walgreens, 7200 Roosevelt Rd. in Forest Park, and told the manager that there appeared to be people doing drugs in a car in the parking lot. When police arrived, the men in the car made "furtive movements," and one passenger exited the car. Police found an aluminum can on the ground as well as a baggie of suspect heroin. Police searched the car and found another baggie with heroin residue, as well as a pack of hypodermic needles…

MONDAY, FEB. 25 A 16-year-old male Hinsdale Central student from Willowbrook was charged with possession of cannabis, police said, after an employee of the school determined he had the drug at 10 a.m. and called police. The substance field-tested positive for cannabis and the student was cited for violating a local ordinance. He was released to appear in court. SUNDAY, FEB. 24 Leon Francisco, 45, of the 2900 block of Willow Street, Franklin Park, was charged with DUI, police said, after he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol during a 2:13 a.m. traffic stop in the 100 block of East Ogden Avenue, and refused an ensuing breath test. Two women were charged with heroin possession in Burr Ridge after police found them with the drug during a Jan. 22 traffic stop near the intersection of Madison and 87th Street, according to a Burr Ridge Police Department release sent out Wednesday afternoon. Marie F. Kucera, 22, of the 0-10 block of Bay Rum Court, Burr Ridge, and Ashley M. Barta, 23, of the 600 block of Sheffield Lane, Bolingbrook, were each charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, police said. MONDAY, DEC. 24 A resident from the first block of Golf Avenue reported at 1:24 p.m. that someone cut the electric cords on Christmas lights that were lighting two trees in front of their home some time that morning or afternoon, police said. SATURDAY, DEC. 22 William J. Meidinger, 19, of the 4600 block of Clausen Avenue in Western Springs, and Corey J. Jefko, 18, of the 4500 block of Gilbert Avenue in Western Springs, were charged with possession of cannabis after a traffic stop for driving with one tail light near the intersection of Stonegate and Ogden avenues at 1:46 a.m., police said. MONDAY, DEC. 17 Someone stole $600 in cash from a resident of The Birches, 215 55th Street, between 2 p.m. Sunday and 1 p.m. Monday, police said. The money was located in a storage bin in the resident's closet at the time it was taken. The case is under investigation and police said they are questioning staff. Possession of a controlled substance—James C. Brandt, of 635 S. Park Ave. in Hinsdale, was arrested when he was found to be in possession of a substance that tested positive for heroin after police officers responding to a suspicious vehicle report found the suspect behind the wheel of the vehicle in the 10 block of East Hickory Street at 1:02 a.m. Dec. 17, according to the Hinsdale Police Department. Deputy Chief Mark Wodka said Brandt's car was parked in front of the house of the person who made the suspicious vehicle report.
