Hinsdale Woman Charged with Battery of Family Member

Other offenses recently reported by the Hinsdale Police Department include obstruction of justice, DUI, and cannabis possession.

Domestic battery—Kimberli S. Pickering, of 427 Birchwood Rd. in Hinsdale, was arrested and charged with domestic battery after allegedly pinching the chest area of an adult male family member in an “insulting or provoking nature” that caused bodily harm following a verbal dispute at 9:31 p.m. Jan. 19, said Deputy Chief Mark Wodka of the Hinsdale Police Department. Wodka said the victim, who required no medical attention, reported the alleged battery to Hinsdale Police. Pickering, 47, was transported to DuPage County Jail for a bond hearing after the arrest. Wodka said that any time a complainant reports insulting or provoking contact by a family member, officers are mandated to make an arrest regardless of the victim’s wishes according to …

Two Hinsdale Men Arrested in Separate Domestic Battery Cases

The two offenses were among those recently reported by the Hinsdale Police Department.

Domestic battery—Gregory S. Stephens, of 904 S. Stough St. in Hinsdale, was arrested after allegedly grabbing a female family member by the arm during a verbal dispute at 7:29 p.m. Nov. 13, preventing her from calling the police on her cell phone, and preventing her from leaving the house at the above address, according to the Hinsdale Police Department. The victim was able to regain possession of her phone and call 911 after Stephens left the scene, according to Deputy Chief Mark Wodka. The suspect was not present when police arrived that night, but turned himself in Nov. 17 following the issuance of a warrant. Hinsdale Woman in Jail After Being Charged With Domestic Battery

Criminal trespassing, DUI, and hit-and-run are among other recent crimes reported by the Hinsdale Police Department.

Domestic battery—Doris A. Bawcum, of 810 S. Jackson St. in Hinsdale, was arrested and charged with domestic battery after the 40-year-old woman pushed a male family member during the evening hours of Sept. 1, according to Deputy Hinsdale Police Chief Mark Wodka. Wodka would not disclose the relationship between Bawcum and the victim, but they are both residents of the same Jackson Street home. Bawcum is currently being held at DuPage County Jail, Wodka said. DUI—Michael H. Janowiak, of 6688 Joliet Rd. in Indian Head Park, was arrested by Hinsdale Police at 12:26 a.m. Aug. 31 after he was observed to be driving under the influence of alcohol in the 900 block of South Madison Street. Hinsdale Man Arrested for Domestic Battery

Vandalism to a car and a village basketball court are among the crimes reported recently to the Hinsdale Police Department.

Domestic battery—Ronald O. Belousek, of 810 S. Jackson St. in Hinsdale, was arrested for domestic battery after pushing a female victim to the floor twice at 5:21 a.m. Aug. 6 at the above address, according to the Hinsdale Police Department. The 35-year-old Belousek lives at 810 S. Jackson St. with his girlfriend, according to Deputy Chief Kevin Simpson, but the victim was not his girlfriend. He was charged with domestic battery and transported to DuPage County Jail. DUI—Catherine Cavenagh, of 432 S. Adams St. in Hinsdale, was charged with driving under the influence after she was pulled over by Hinsdale Police for driving without a passenger-side tire at 4:07 a.m. Aug. 3.
