Substitute Teacher Charged with Sexual Abuse Back in Court
Steven E. Reynolds, of unincorporated Hinsdale, has been present at two brief status hearings since his arraignment in March.
A substitute teacher from unincorporated Hinsdale charged with criminal sexual abuse of a 17-year-old student was in court Wednesday for a second status hearing since pleading not guilty to two felony counts at his arraignment in March. Steven E. Reynolds, 27, of the 600 block of 55th Street, was serving as a substitute teacher and freshman basketball coach at Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park when he was arrested by the DuPage County Sheriff's Office on Feb. 6. He was charged after friends of the victim, a Sandburg student, told authorities about a Jan. 28 incident at Reynolds' home during which the alleged abuse occurred.
