I want to offer a few life lessons I've learned since my graduation days.
I vaguely remember my graduation from high school. I say this because it was 15 years ago, and since then a load of other great memories have flooded my poor memory. Well, that and a boatload of wine. What I do recall, though, is the excitement of the open opportunity awaiting me—that I could do whatever I wanted, be who I wanted, and that the world was just out there, waiting for me to snatch it up and make it mine. How amazing, right? I mean, how many times to we get that opportunity in our lifetime? I, like many high school grads, didn't have a clue what I wanted to do, but I was accepted to the University of Missouri for the following fall, so I was stoked. Thursday night's commencement ceremony took place indoors at the Hinsdale Central gymnasium due to rainy weather.
Members of the Hinsdale Central Class of 2012 threw up their caps and celebrated their completion of high school Thursday night at a commencement ceremony in the Hinsdale Central gymnasium. The ceremony was originally supposed to take place on Dickinson Field, but was moved indoors due to less-than-ideal weather conditions. Did you take photos at, before, or after Thursday's ceremony? It worked so well with prom that we're going to try it with graduation. Hinsdale Central's commencement ceremony takes place on Dickinson Field (weather permitting) Thursday night at 7 p.m. But we all know the highlight of night (at least for the parents) is the pre-ceremony photo shoot. Patch wants to showcase those graduation pics. Senior finals wrap Wednesday and by Thursday night, the Class of 2012 will be high school graduates.
It seems like yesterday that the Jesse White Tumblers were performing after the first day of school last August. Where does the time go?
