Planned a trip to Hinsdale's newest hot spot, CiNe Modern Taqueria, yet? If not, Patch is giving you a reason. Hinsdale-Clarendon Hills Patch and Burr Ridge Patch are partnering with CiNe to put on Main Street U, a free, two-hour event designed to teach local officials, business owners, and passionate residents how to improve their connection to the community by using social media like Facebook and Twitter, as well as Patch. (And to give them some tacos.) Attendees can learn the basics of Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms while also being shown how to go from a Patch reader to a Patch user by blogging, posting events, and creating community announcements. Owner Peter Burdi said people can start making reservations online and on the phone Monday afternoon.
Downtown Hinsdale's newest restaurant will open this weekend, its owner said Monday morning. CiNe Modern Taqueria will be open for business Saturday, Nov. 3, in the Hinsdale Theater building on 1st Street. Owner Peter Burdi said reservations can be made on the restaurant's website beginning around noon Monday, and by phone later Monday afternoon around 4 p.m. at 630-590-5655. Burdi, who lives in Burr Ridge, also owns Il Poggiolo and Nabuki in downtown Hinsdale. "We’re just looking to give another great dining experience in the Hinsdale area," Burdi said. The Mexican restaurant will be the third eatery opened by Peter Burdi in downtown Hinsdale; he also owns Il Poggiolo and Nabuki right across the street.
After bringing Italian and Japanese food to downtown Hinsdale in recent years, Peter Burdi is at it again. Burdi’s exterior site plan for Cine Modern Taqueria, set to open Nov. 1 in the Hinsdale Theater building at 29 E. 1st St., got the approval of the Village of Hinsdale Plan Commission Wednesday night at Memorial Hall, and the real-estate-investor-turned-restaurateur from Burr Ridge is excited about his latest concept. “It’ll be Latin-slash-modern taqueria,” Burdi told commissioners Wednesday. “That’s kind of the trend that’s been happening in terms of Mexican food.” Similar to Chicago hotspots Big Star and Mercadito, Cine will have a taco-bar feel in addition to a traditional dining room. “The front part will be a taqueria,” Burdi said…
