I would like to extend my congratulations to Senator Kirk Dillard in his victory this past Tuesday. On account of redistricting, we all faced difficult decisions and very unfortunate contests. While the race was spirited, it has been decided by the voters and they have decided on Senator Dillard. I welcome him into the new communities that I represent and ask that all of the people who supported me, welcome him as enthusiastically as I am. It's time to make sure that our party brings a unified voice to Springfield to accomplish the serious business of getting our state back on track. I believe Senator Dillard will be a leader in that effort as my new State Senator. Sincerely, Chris Nybo Candidate for State Senate District 24

The district includes all or part of Clarendon Hills, Elmhurst, Glen Ellyn, Hinsdale, Lisle, Oak Brook, Western Springs, and Wheaton.
Updated at 11:05 p.m. State Sen. Kirk Dillard (R-Hinsdale) grabbed more than 60 percent of the vote and beat Rep. Chris Nybo (R-Lombard) for the Republican nomination in Illinois' 24th Senate District in Tuesday's General Primary. The incumbent has served the 24th District since 1993. "I take this as a nice referendum on my leadership style," Dillard said over the phone after the win became official. "It shows that people understand results and want state legislators to work in collaboration without ever giving up their principles." With 100 percent of precincts reporting in both DuPage and Cook counties, Dillard had 19,145 total votes (62 percent) to Nybo's 11,928 (32 percent). Nybo, who has represented the state's 41st House District …

The state of Illinois is facing challenging and fiscally complex problems, from a crippling structural deficit, to the challenge of pension and Medicaid reform, and a hostile business climate. The status quo is no longer a viable option. It is time for us to elect officials with political courage—the political courage to make the tough decisions necessary to put this state on a path toward addressing challenging issues head on. Chris Nybo is that candidate for the 24th Illinois Senate District. Chris Nybo is qualified, capable and has proven to be an individual with the political courage to make tough decisions in the best interest of his district and the state. We need a generation of fresh, independent voices in Springfield, not …

Chris Nybo can tackle hard issues and move Illinois away from its current unsustainable path.

For too long, politicians in Springfield have ignored fiscal realities and taken Illinois to the brink of financial ruin. Anything positive that has been accomplished pales in comparison to the financial neglect of our state. Politicians have focused on playing the game and protecting their turf, rather than serving Illinois and its citizens. Kirk Dillard has been in the Illinois Senate for nearly 20 years. Illinois needs a change, and as voters, we can make change happen. Chris Nybo is a hardworking parent who cares about his family and his state, as are I and many others. I met Chris after he rang my doorbell going to door-to-door to meet the voters. I believe he is a person who can tackle hard issues and take on the establishment to …

Nybo is willing to face pension reform head-on.

After the redistricting maps finally came out, it was very confusing for a time. Once I realized that Glen Ellyn had the opportunity to be represented by Chris Nybo in the State Senate, I was thrilled and able to get to work for good government! My company is based in Oak Brook, where Mr. Nybo currently serves as State Representative. I've had many opportunities to meet with him and see him at work in the community. What I appreciate most is his logical approach and candid discussion on pension reform. The fact he is willing to meet this issue head-on is something that impresses me greatly. As a businessman, I know that this crisis could have and should have been dealt with long ago by the legislature. The fact they continued to delay any …

The Downers Grove Township Republican Organization has endorsed Illinois Sen. Kirk Dillard (R-24, Westmont) in his bid for re-election to the 24th Senate District over his opponent, state Rep. Chris Nybo (R-41st, Elmhurst). Dillard called for Republicans to unite to bring Illinois back to fiscal responsibility. Nearly 100 precinct committeemen from throughout the township voted. To endorse, the DGTRO required 75 percent of committeemen to agree. Many of the assembled Republicans commented on Dillard’s long record of fiscal responsibility and government accountability. “Downers Grove is the largest Republican Township in Illinois,” noted Brian Krajewski, chairman of the DGTRO and former mayor of Downers Grove. “Our communities have …

Yes. Mr. Nybo was very classy when he sent out those attack mailpieces that questioned Dillard's commitment and ethics. He was also very classy when he violated the "dark period" rules and sent out campaign material on the taxpayers dime. Mr. Nybo is a spoiled, brash punk who got his butt whipped by a solid individual, nothing more.   more ›
