Wheaton Man Charged with Hinsdale Jewelry Theft

The 20-year-old allegedly took four gold items during a party; investigators were tipped off that he had pawned several items at shops in Glen Ellyn and Niles.

Elton D. Garner, of 1410 Dawes Ave. in Wheaton, was arrested by the Hinsdale Police Department Thursday and charged with stealing more than $7,800 worth of jewelry from a Hinsdale home during a party in November, Deputy Chief Mark Wodka said. Garner, 20, was arrested at his home at 4:30 p.m. Thursday after investigators learned that he had pawned some of the stolen items at pawnshops in Niles and Glen Ellyn.  "He was able to obtain cash," Wodka said. Garner allegedly stole the items from a Hinsdale home in the 800 block of North Washington Street during a party on the night of Nov. 23. Clarendon Hills Man Arrested For String of Naperville Burglaries

The Clarendon Hills resident is believed to be responsible for a string of commercial burglaries in Naperville the last week of March.

Ten burglaries took place at Naperville businesses between March 27 and March 31 at businesses along 75th Street. There was one burglary on North Route 59. Naperville Police say that in each case, someone used an object to shatter the glass of a storefront in the late evening or early morning hours and stole cash. The Naperville Police Department launched an intensive investigation that included reassigning investigators and running saturated patrols at locations that might be targeted. On April 1, around 1:15 a.m., Naperville Police officers noticed a man who had a large rock near a business on the 1500 block of West Ogden Avenue. The officers identified him as Michael J. Hinsdale Police Arrest Burr Ridge Man in Hit and Run

A Burr Ridge man was arrested in Hinsdale for driving under the influence and for fleeing the scene of an accident.

On Feb. 20 at 9:58 p.m. Hinsdale Police arrested Joseph P. Yopp, 41, of 708 Tomlin Dr. in Burr Ridge for driving under the influence, driving under the influence over .08 and for leaving the scene of an accident after he was involved in a car accident near 55th Street and County Line Road in Hinsdale. Due to the demonstrated severity of his impairment, a sobriety test was not administered, according to Hinsdale Police records.  Patch reports on law enforcement activity in our town, using information provided by official agencies. Traffic stop involving multiple charges—Three people were arrested after police stopped the car they were in at 6:49 a.m. Jan. 8 at 8 W. Chicago. Sheraz M. Khan, 24, 2849 Granville Ave., #1E, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs; Roberto A. Ixta, 3505 S. 54th Ct., Cicero, was charged with possession of 30 grams or less than cannabis and unlawful use of a drivers license; Katherine A. Hinsdale Man Faces Felony Charge for Cocaine Possession

Suspect was arrested on South Madison Street.

On Dec. 10 at 9:07 a.m., David Armistead, 37, of 6191 S. Countyline Road in Hinsdale was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. A Hinsdale Police officer made contact with him on the 900 Block of S. Madison Street. After running a name check on Armistead, the officer learned that there were two outstanding warrants out on him for failing to appear on traffic charges. One was from Darien, and the other was from Kane County. Drive-Through Rage Leads to Arrest at Hinsdale McDonald's

Western Springs resident is arrested for disorderly conduct following an early-morning altercation in a McDonald's Drive-Through.

A Western Springs woman got into an argument with another customer in the drive-through line of the McDonald's on York Road. Cynthia Hrvatin, 39, of 5004 Wolf Road in Western Springs, allegedly got out of her car on the morning of Dec. 7 and threw her coffee cup at another car with a female driver inside. She then allegedly smashed the empty cup on the roof of the vehicle. Hinsdale police said several witnesses were disturbed by what they saw. Two Teens Charged With Drug Possession

A Hinsdale police officer patrolling Robbins Park made the arrest.

Hinsdale police arrested two teenagers for alleged possession of drug paraphernalia and cannabis in Robbins Park at 8:41 p.m. on Nov. 12.        A 16-year-old male Oak Brook resident and a 15-year-old male Burr Ridge resident were charged with possession of no more than 30 grams of cannabis and possession of drug equipment. Police said that an officer was investigating suspicious circumstances in the area of Robbins Park when he found the two suspects. Arrest Made in Alixandra Collections Thefts

Suspect in Oct. 5 theft was arrested after she returned to the store.

Marie E. Sanchez, 49, of 4713 Prince Street in Downers Grove, was arrested at Alixandra Collections on Oct. 12. Sanchez was a suspect in a theft that occurred at the store a week earlier. "Store personnel had recognized her as the person from the incident on Oct. 5," said Deputy Chief Mark Wodka. "Upon recognizing her, the employee notified us that she was in the store again. This prompted us to respond there again yesterday." Police say Sanchez stole two pieces jewelry that had a combined value of $309.95.
