Here's a round-up of recent, bizarre police report items from the area.

HINSDALE A female at her home on the 800 block of Chanticleer Lane reported that someone was looking through a window at her on May 14 while she was partially undressed. The female recognized the suspect as William Drew Daniel, 28, who lives on the same block, police said. Police at 8:39 p.m. quickly located Daniel at his home. He was charged with disorderly conduct and released to appear in court. DOWNERS GROVE A 25-year-old woman is headed to court after she was found with marijuana blunts and texting while driving with her baby in Downers Grove, police said. Lauren Iacovella, of the first block of Redstart Road, Naperville, was charged with possession of cannabis 30 grams and under. She also received a ticket for texting behind the …

Alleged Hinsdale Drug Dealer Arrested (Again) After Downtown Apartment Raided

Police say they found over 1,000 prescription medication pills, as well as marijuana, cocaine and hallucinogenic mushrooms, in a downtown Hinsdale apartment.

The DuPage Metropolitan Enforcement Group has arrested a Hinsdale man and charged him with eight felony counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, after, police said, seizing a variety of illegal drugs from his downtown Hinsdale apartment, the Doings Hinsdale reports.  According to the paper, Sean M. O’Malley, 58, of 108 S. Washington Ave., was arrested on April 25—the second time in a year, as he was previously charged with possession of a controlled substance with attempt to deliver in June 2012. Police said that they found over a thousand prescription pills, 200 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms, 130 grams of marijuana and three grams of cocaine in the apartment in the heart of the Hinsdale downtown.  “This …

THURSDAY, MAY 16 A woman said she saw a white male last week loitering on Walker School grounds on the 100 block of Walker Avenue while the kids were going outside for lunch. Her husband at 8:30 a.m. May 16 saw the same male at the corner of Harris and Holmes, according to a report. The responding officer asked her to call if she sees the male again on school grounds. The woman thought the sightings might be related to an incident with a male at Prospect Park that was reported May 15. See below. 5 Charged With Underage Drinking in Separate Incidents: Police Blotter

Hinsdale police reports, May 16-19

SUNDAY, MAY 19 Francisco Rodriguez, 21, of the 2900 block of North Pulaski, Chicago, was charged with DUI, DUI .08 or more, disobeying a stop sign and driving an uninsured vehicle. Police said they stopped Walters at 4:09 a.m. at 4th and Vine streets for disobeying a stop sign, according to a report. Rodriguez was observed to be under the influence of alcohol during the traffic stop. He submitted a breath sample with blood alcohol content over .08. He was charged and released to appear in court. A passenger in Rodriguez’s vehicle had a warrant for probation violation from Florida, the report said. The passenger was taken into custody and transported to the DuPage County Jail. MONDAY, MAY 20 Someone damaged a man's car while it was parked in a parking lot on the 300 block of West 59th Street, police said. The incident occurred sometime between 9 p.m. May 19 and 8 a.m. on this day, according to police. The man noticed a transfer of white paint on his vehicle when he returned. WEDNESDAY, MAY 15 Someone damaged a woman's car while it was parked in a parking lot on the first block of Grant Square, police said. The incident occurred sometime between 12:30 p.m. and 12:55 p.m., according to police. The woman reported damage to her driver's side and rear driver's side doors. Hinsdale Chief 'Absolutely' Supports Kirk Dillard's Burglary-Related Proposal

The state senator from Hinsdale wants the state government to develop record-keeping requirements for cash-for-gold businesses similar to those required of pawnshops.

Hinsdale Police Chief Brad Bloom said the rise of cash-for-gold businesses with their lack of public sales records is related to the upswing in recent years of residential burglaries that target jewelry. “I think it’s fueled this availability of cash for jewelry,” Bloom said. “People can get money quick with out having to provide any records.” Clarendon Hills Police Chief Ted Jenkins agreed.  "The ability to sell it for weight, without any records, has made jewelry as liquid as cash," he said. Kirk Dillard (R-Hinsdale) said wants to set up a task force of police officials and cash-for-gold business representatives that would develop state-mandated recording practices similar to those required of pawnshops, so that burglary …

'Serious Fire' Along Tri-State Backs Up Traffic: Mapquest

Mapquest said one northbound lane was closed Monday afternoon.

Updated at 4:15 p.m. It appears traffic is now flowing at a normal rate through the I-294/I-55 interchange, according to Mapquest, who earlier reported a "serious fire" along northbound I-294.  4:02 p.m. Mapquest continues to report heavy traffic in the area of I-294's intersection with I-55, but there is no longer an alert regarding the fire.  Original story: A fire along I-294 near its crossing with I-55 is causing traffic delays Monday afternoon, according to Mapquest. The fire has forced the closure of one lane on northbound I-294, reports Mapquest, which advises commuters to "expect some delays."
