The Lane School is one of the nine District 181 schools named on The Illinois Honor Roll of Schools. Student state test scores rank in the 95 percentile or above in all categories and grades tested.
The original Lane School building was built in 1956 and there have been three additions to the school, the latest and largest completed in 2002. The school's mascot is known as the Bulldog.
