Final D86 Levy Vote Set for Monday Night

The District 86 board would finalize the controversial flat levy if the four board members who supported it last month vote the same way Monday.

After much back and forth between flat-levy-supporters and flat-levy-detractors here on Patch, the Hinsdale Township High School District 86 Board of Education will vote Monday night to finalize this year's levy.

"This tax levy of $72,605,822 for capped funds represents no increase over last year’s tax extension," a memo from interim business manager Gerry Yeggy included in Monday night's agenda packet reads.

If nothing changes from the board's first vote on the levy, in which a majority of board members selected the flat levy over several different allowable increases, the flat levy will be finalized.

Board members Victor Casini, Ed Corcoran, Claudia Manley and Richard Skoda all voted to support the flat levy on Nov. 18. Kay Gallo, Michael Kuhn and Jennifer Planson voted against it.

Monday night's meeting will take place at Hinsdale South High School. It will begin at 7 p.m.
