Red Devils Maintain No. 11 Ranking in Sun-Times' Latest 'Super 25'

A Homecoming win over Hinsdale South also kept Hinsdale Central in the Chicago Tribune's No. 15 spot for the third straight week.

For the third straight week, Hinsdale Central (5-1) is No. 11 ranking in Mike Clark's Chicago Sun-Times rankings, and No. 15 in Mike Helfgot's Chicago Tribune rankings after a Homecoming win over Hinsdale South (4-2) Saturday afternoon.

Hinsdale Central quarterback Brian Owens completed 15 of 24 passes for 319 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, outdueling South's DJ Deolitsis, who ran for 211 yards and threw for 166. 

Running back Jack Adams finished with 111 yards and two rushing touchdowns on 15 carries. Senior receiver John Claussen caught both touchdown passes from Owens, who also ran for one score.

"We're on a pretty good roll," linebacker Andrew Pyle said. "We're going to be tough come playoff time."

The Red Devils host Oak Park River Forest Friday night. The Huskies (4-2) beat Lyons Township Friday night.
