PREVIEW: Hinsdale Central Looks to Improve to 2-0 Against Leyden

The Red Devils beat St. Charles North, 30-0, in the 2012 season opener last week.

Last week: Quarterback Brian Owens and running back Jack Adams, both seniors, led the Red Devils to a dominant 30-0 win over St. Charles North on Aug. 24. Owens went 10-of-20 passing for 196 yards and a 38-yard TD pass. He also had five rushes for 32 yards, including his two-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Adams ran for 105 yards on 17 carries with two first-half touchdowns.

Leyden also won big last Friday. According to the Daily Herald, the Eagles beat up on Fenton in a 34-0 win.

"Tailback Mickey Gulo (731 yards, 4 TDs) works behind a line that has experience with third-year starting guard Erik Herrera and size in sophomore Gunnar Schiferl (6-feet-3, 280 pounds)," the Herald's season preview reads. "Senior quarterback Mike Smith brings three dimensions of running, passing and intelligence."
