Prairie State Cycling Series Culminates in Downers Grove This Weekend

Competitive cycling is coming back to Downers Grove.

The Intelligentsia Cup Prairie State Cycling Series, which showcases criterium and road cycling races throughout Chicago area communities, will culminate in the village this Sunday, July 27.

"The challenging figure-eight course is highly regarded among U.S. professional cyclists and is the same one used for the U.S. Professional Criterium Championships that were held in Downers Grove for 23 years until 2009," according to a village news release.

Streets along the course will be closed at about 5 a.m. on race day, with events running from 8:20 a.m. to 6 p.m.
