Hinsdale Central Runner Alexa Haff Finishes 2nd at State Meet

The Red Devils finished 14th overall as a team Saturday in Peoria.

Hinsdale Central freshman Alexa Haff ran the Detweiller Park course in 16:45 Saturday, good for a second-place finish at the 3A girls cross country state meet in Peoria. 

Haff finished two seconds behind New Trier's Mimi Smith, who claimed the individual state title.

On a day the Red Devils boys cross country team won their first ever state title, the Hinsdale Central girls finished 14th as a team. 

Sophomore Annie Zaher finished at 17:56 and junior Camila Horowicz came in at 18:33. Sophomore Emma Sullivan followed them at 18:43, with junior Sara Folliard finishing at 19:07 and junior Sarah Brennan at 19:50.

Glenbard West took the 3A girls team title.
