Hinsdale Central Girls Tennis Dominates Proviso West

Red Devils shut out Panthers two days after claiming Loyola Invitational title.

The girls tennis team did not lose a single game in any set en route to a 5-0 win over Proviso West in a home match Monday. 

Junior Tiffany Chen and sophomore Alexa Solovyev both won in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. The Red Devils doubles pairs—Jackie Altansarnai/Rugile Valiunate, Katie Lee/Anna Paulson, Alex Usher/Rachel Ballantine, and Claire Foster/Ainsley Edstrom—also all won 6-0, 6-0 Monday.

The win comes after a strong performance Saturday, when Hinsdale Central finished first at the Loyola Team Tennis Invitational.

The Red Devils beat Loyola 5-0, Lyons Township 4-1, and Glenbrook South 5-0.

The Hinsdale Central boys golf team finished first in a quad match at Cress Creek Country Club. Naperville North and St. Charles East finished fourth and third, respectively, while Benet finished second.

Harry Boling had the best day for the Red Devils with a 3-under 33.
