Hinsdale Central Boys Swimming Places Third at State

The Hinsdale Central boys swimming team returned from the state finals this past weekend with a third-place overall finish. 

The Illinois High School Association state finals were held Feb. 28 and March 1 at Evanston Township High School. 

Junior Brian Portland finished in second place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of  45.28 seconds. Meanwhile, the Hinsdale Central 200-yard medley relay of team of sophomore Craig Smith, freshman Franco Reyes, junior Brian Portland and senior Aneil Srivastava finished in second place with a time of 1:33.16. 

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of freshman freshman Franco Reyes, junior Brian Powell, senior Aneil Srivastava and junior Brian Portland finished in second lace with a time of 1:24.18. 

University High School in Normal finished in first place at the state meet, Libertyville High School finished in second place and Naperville Central High School finished in fourth place. 

The Red Devils won the sectional meet last weekend in Downers Grove
