HCS Family Services Hosts Golf Outing for Charity

HCS Family Services will host its second annual golf outing at the LaGrange Country Club on Monday, June 27.

According to Kathy Harris, spokesperson for HCS Family Services, the event will raise much needed funds for the organization. 

"Without the monies we receive from the golf event, we wouldn't be able to expand the program the way that the times are demanding," said Harris. "The need now is just greater and greater. We're a small office, and we could benefit from more case management and programming."

The organization recently expanded from food pantry services to include additional services, such as rent and utility assistance, emergency services, homelessness prevention and job services to meet a growing demand in the community.

The golf outing will begin with registration and lunch at 11 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. The entry fee is $275, per golfer and includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, a box lunch, beverages on the course, a golfer's gift and a cocktail reception  including heavy hors d’oeuvres beginning at 5:30 p.m. 

Harris said golfers from Burr Ridge, Darien, Hinsdale, La Grange and Western Springs already have registered for the event.

Contests and prizes on the course are planned, and the organization is looking for individuals and businesses to lend support by becoming sponsors. All sponsors will receive recognition on the event welcome banner, reception program, HCS website and local advertising. Gold level sponsorships will include entry fees for a golf foursome. The registration deadline is June 20. 

All proceeds from the event will benefit HCS Family Services, which serves residents of Southeast DuPage County, including the communities of Burr Ridge, Clarendon Hills, Darien, Hinsdale, Oak Brook, Willowbrook and Westmont.
