Girls Soccer: Hinsdale Central Girls Fall in State Title Match

Naperville North won its second straight state championship Saturday at North Central College in Naperville.

Hinsdale Central's girls soccer team fell behind by two goals in the first half of Saturday's state title game against Naperville North and eventually lost 2-1 to the defending state champs, according to the IHSA website

Zoe Swift scored both Naperville North goals: one at the 5:57 mark and another at 16:54. Hinsdale Central's Megan Schick cut the lead in half with a goal at 49:58 mark, but it would be all the Red Devils could muster.

Hinsdale Central finished the 2013 season with a 17-4-3 record, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

The Red Devils had beaten Super Sixteen opponents Lyons Township, Sandburg and Barrington in their run to the final.

Last year's team made it to the Super Sixteen, but lost in its first game against Downers South.

The championship game was played Saturday at North Central College in Naperville.
