Football: Hinsdale Central No. 12 in Chicago Sun-Times' Rankings

The Red Devils are 2-0 after beating Leyden, 17-3, Friday night and St. Charles North 30-0 on Aug. 24.

After a 17-3 road win over Leyden Friday night, Hinsdale Central is the No. 12 football team in the state, according to the latest Chicago Sun-Times rankings put together by Mike Clark and released Monday.

In last week's rankings, Clark had Hinsdale Central at No. 13.

The Red Devils open conference play against Proviso West on Sept. 7.

The Red Devils are No. 20 in the latest Chicago Tribune rankings put together by Mike Helfgot and also released Monday.

Helfgot had the Red Devils at No. 20 last week, as well. Apparently their win over Leyden, during which the Red Devils committed three turnovers and 13 penalties, wasn't pretty enough to raise the Devils or ugly enough to drop them.
