Football Friday: Hinsdale Central Looking for Fourth Straight Win

The Red Devils host Downers Grove North Friday night at 7:30 p.m. in Hinsdale

Last week: Hinsdale Central ; Downers North beat Proviso West 20-7.

The Red Devils clinched a winning record in 2011 with a narrow win at OPRF Oct. 7. After leading by 14 at halftime, Hinsdale Central let their lead slip away and found themselves trailing the Huskies in the fourth quarter. Junior quarterback Brian Owens found Brad Anlauf in the end zone with 2:44 remaining, one of two touchdown catches for Anlauf, who finished with 11 catches for 190 yards.

OPRF junior running back Jakari Cammon gashed the Red Devils defense for 234 yards and three touchdowns on 32 carries.

The win was the third straight for Hinsdale Central, who beat up on Hinsdale South Sept. 30 and Lyons Township on Sept. 24.

According to Yourseason.com, Downers Grove North got its first West Suburban Silver win in Hillside last week versus Proviso West. Anthony Rada rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries for the Trojans.

The Downers North win came one week after losing 41-8 to York and two weeks after a 24-14 loss to cross-town rival Downers South.
