Nabuki's 'Sunshine Roll' Supporting Solar Panels at Hinsdale Central

One dollar will be donated for every roll purchased at the Hinsdale restaurant over the next 30 days.

Nabuki is doing its part to help out Hinsdale Central students raising money for the installation of solar panels on top of the school.

The Japanese restaurant at 18 E. 1st St. in Hinsdale will donate $1 to the cause for every "Sunshine Roll" it sells over the next 30 days, according to a post on Nabuki's Facebook page.

Here's what's in the roll:

"Crab tempura, cucumber, avocado, crab and jalapeno topped with fresh salmon, orange, spicy mayo, ponzu and red tobiko."

The Hinsdale Central and Hinsdale South ecology clubs have spearheaded an effort to raise $100,000 to put panels on top of both schools.

As of Sept. 25, approximately $85,000 had been raised. Since then, the District 86 Board of Education approved $525 in donations on Oct. 21, and $16,065 in donations on Nov. 18. That puts the total collected over $101,000.
