Nabuki Gets Spot on Michelin Guide's Bib Gourmands List

It's the Hinsdale restaurant's first time on the list meant to highlight "quality food at a reasonable price."

Nabuki is among the best places to go in the Chicago area to get a reasonably priced meal, according to the soon-to-be-released Michelin Guide Chicago 2014.

The popular Hinsdale sushi spot is among the 69 area restaurants on Michelin's Bib Gourmands list, which highlights restaurants where customers can get two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for $40 or less before tax, according to a Michelin release posted online.

"While the famous Michelin stars remain the most celebrated international distinction in the Michelin Guide, the Bib Gourmand is a highly desired honor among restaurateurs and one that is recognized by the many people who covet quality food at a reasonable price," the release states.

Nabuki owner Peter Burdi, who also owns Il Poggiolo and CiNe in downtown Hinsdale, was proud to receive the recognition for the first time.

"We want to thank Michelin for the honor and Chef Juan [Perez] and all of the staff for all their hard work," Burdi said in a text message Thursday.

Nabuki, a "contemporary Japanese cuisine and sushi restaurant" according to its website, opened at its 18 E. 1st St. location in 2010.

It is joined on the Bib Gourmands list by a number of well-known Chicago eateries, including Girl & The Goat, Frontera Grill and The Purple Pig.

Other west-suburban restaurant on the list are Marion Street Cheese Market and Sen in Oak Park, Q BBQ and Kama Indian Bistro in La Grange, and Autre Monde in Berwyn.
