Key to Awesomeness: As a member of the Hinsdale Central community, Shroyer has enjoyed supporting her fellow classmates and other student athletes throughout high school. Her favorite things about Hinsdale Central are "the soccer program and the school spirit," she said. "All the boys from the soccer team come and watch our games, and we go to theirs. We support each other; it's like a family on the field." Shroyer's Red Devil pride extends to other activities in the school as well. She participates in A.C.E Club, which organizes groups of students to go to school sporting events and cheer on all of Hinsdale Central's sports teams. Shroyer said that the students at Hinsdale Central show their school pride all the time. "Every other week we have dress up days," she said. "Everyone participates, not just upperclassmen."
What’s Next: Shroyer is excited for her senior year, and said she's looking forward to "being the upperclassmen. We're the rulers of the school." Shroyer has already committed to play soccer at Southern Methodist University in Dallas after graduation, and she is hoping to study at SMU's business school. Before she leaves for college, though, Shroyer is focused on finishing out high school with a strong soccer season. "We have a new coach this year, Coach Smith, [who] wants to take our team to state," she said. "Being a leader will help my team a lot. I'm one of the few returning seniors who have played the full four years on varsity, so I want to accomplish that state goal."
