Key to Awesomeness: Maday learned about the Career Explorers program through his mother, who is a nurse and has a friend who is a pharmacist. "I like science and I like helping people, so it seemed like a good fit for me," Maday said. He also had experience working at a research firm for his sophomore year career project, and decided to try out Career Explorers to see if he would like to major in pharmacy in college. The program turned out to suit Maday well. "The teachers [at Career Explorers] cared a lot," Maday said. "They were there because they wanted to be."

What’s Next: In his senior year, Maday would like to make conference with the Hinsdale South swim team. "We'd won nine years straight for conference, then lost last year, so I want to pick it back up next year," Maday said. After high school, Maday hopes to continue to focus on health sciences and major in pharmacy in college. His dream school is Drake University. "it has one of the best pharmacy programs," Maday said, adding that he is also looking at Benedictine University and Elmhurst College. He would also like to return to Midwestern University for grad school. "I'm excited to start out and go to college for pharmacy," Maday said.
