'Pending Litigation' Action Item Again on D86 Board Agenda

The District 86 Board of Education meets at Hinsdale South Monday night at 7 p.m.

The Hinsdale Township High School District 86 Board of Education will once again go into closed session Monday night before potentially taking action Monday night on "pending legislation" that a former board president believes is a settlement with former board member Dianne Barrett.

Former Board President Dennis Brennan, a defendant in Barrett’s suit, has said that he believes the item being considered by the board in private is a proposed settlement agreement with Barrett. He sent his copy of the proposed settlement to news outlets earlier this month after Judge Paul Fullerton dismissed Barrett’s suit based on it being “moot” now that she is not a board member.

The board had a similar action item on the agenda of their special meeting last Tuesday, but took no action after a discussion in closed session

Board President Claudia Manley has said she can't comment on whether or not the action being discussed is related to the Barrett lawsuit.

Monday night's meeting will be held at Hinsdale South in Darien at 7 p.m.
