New District 86 Board Members To Be Sworn In

Winners of last month's election will attend their first Committee of the Whole meeting at Hinsdale Central Monday night.

Monday night's District 86 school board meeting will be a transitional one.

At the Reorganizational and Committee of the Whole Meeting, board president Donald Brennan will swear in Michael Kuhn, Jennifer Planson and Richard Skoda, the top three vote-getters in April's election. Kuhn was an incumbent in the race and will be serving his second term.

Board member Vinaya Sharma finished fourth in April and will surrender his post after one term on the board. George Kumis is the other outgoing board member; he's retiring after two terms. Both his and Sharma's service will be acknowledged Monday night.

Also on the agenda Monday night are board-member committee appointments, a look at the proposed board schedule through December 2012 and a review of Assistant Superintendant for Instruction Bruce Law's textbook recommendations for the 2011-12 school year.
