The administration table featured a few new faces at Monday night's District 181 Board of Education meeting at in Burr Ridge.
Being the first meeting of the 2012-13 fiscal year, Monday was the first time that four new District 181 central office hires took the places of those who departed the district on June 30.
On hand was Gary Frisch, the new assistant superintendent for business and operations (replacing Dr. Troy Whalen); Doug Eccarius, the new executive director for human resources (replacing Mary Ticknor); Dr. Kurt Schneider, the new assistant director of pupil services (replacing Pam Kazee); and Bridget McGuiggan, the new director of communications (replacing Rita DuChateau).
Superintendent Dr. Renée Schuster's District 181 2012-13 leadership team also includes assistant superintendent for learning Dr. Janet Stutz, director of technology Eric Danley, director of curriculum and instruction Kevin Russell, and director of pupil services Christine Igoe.
Board President Michael Nelson welcomed the new administrators on behalf of the board.
"I'm really happy to see the team come together," Nelson said. "Our challenge will be to keep it together now so that we can build off this great base that we've got in place."
Frisch comes to District 181 from Barrington Community School District 220, where he was the chief financial officer. Eccarius was an internal hire, getting the HR job after serving as principal of The Lane School for seven years. Schneider was formerly a co-administrator of teaching and learning and director of student services for the Stoughton Area School District in Wisconsin, and McGuiggan during the last six years served as the community relations director for Orland School District 135.
Of the departed administrators, DuChateau retired, Ticknor and Whalen both left for superintendent jobs in the Chicago area, and Kazee has taken a similar pupil services position at Maine Township High School District 207.
