Hinsdale Central Opens Homecoming Week

The James Bond-themed week will wrap up with a Hinsdale Central-Lyons Township football game Saturday.

The gym was red and white and black all over Monday afternoon.

The school's 24-member Homecoming Court 2011 was introduced to a packed gym during a pep rally that concluded the first school day of Homecoming Week, which will run through the next five days and culminate with a football game against Lyons Township and a 007-themed dance. 

The nominees for Homecoming King, in no particular order, are Tommy Griffin, Riley Strumillo, Achilles Bezanis, Joe Morris, Michael Pircon, John Stathopoulos, Adam Swade, Dan Cassin, Danny Thompson, Tommy Garvin, Ben Eng, and Bobby Buddig.

The ladies vying for Homecoming Queen are Taylor Wilder, Kelly Eickhoff, Paige McClain, Divya Kirti, Taylor Rasmussen, Riley O'Donnell, Katie Grabowski, Sara Klepacki, Claudia Vaughn, Coco Arima, Maddie Beejay, and Melanie Cass.

The nominees all wore black Monday, as the Dress of the Day theme was Back in Black.

  • HHSTA Homecoming Pancake Breakfast, 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Homecoming Parade, 9:30 a.m.
  • Boys Soccer vs. Naperville Central, 10 a.m.
  • Football vs. Lyons Township, 12 p.m.
  • Homecoming Dance, 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
