Five Students Receive Hinsdale Rotary Youth Merit Award

The students were recognized for their achievements April 8.

Five students from Hinsdale Adventist Academy, St. Isaac Jogues Parish School, and Hinsdale Central High School received the Rotary Club of Hinsdale’s Youth Merit Award Friday. The award recognizes high school and middle school students for scholarship, leadership and service.

The Rotary Club of Hinsdale invites students from area public and private schools to award ceremonies several times each school year.

Rotarian and Hinsdale resident Carolyn Snyder coordinates the program. Staff members at five area schools nominate students. The award winners attend a Rotary meeting, address the club members about their activities and interests, and receive a certificate. Middle school students attend with their parents and a teacher who has been influential in their lives.
