NAMI of DuPage County (The National Alliance on Mental Illness) will be offering three fall sessions of the free NAMI Family to Family Education course for families and caregivers of persons diagnosed with mental illnesses. The 12-week series of classes will be held from 7:00-9:30PM at three locations:

Naperville -- Thursdays, September 6–November 15 at Knox Presbyterian Church
Wheaton -- Wednesdays, September 12–November 21 at the NAMI Office
The course is offered at no charge and is taught by two trained teachers who have experienced mental illness in their own families. For information on the Family to Family program or to register visit www.namidupage.org or call the NAMI DuPage office at (630) 752-0066, ext. 210.
Some comments from past participants in this program:
“Hearing each family’s story helped me realize I was not alone.”
“The course is very informative. It gives me a better understanding of the “system” and the consumer [person with a mental illness]. NAMI is doing a great job in bringing mental illness out in the open and to the public.”
“The class provided an optimistic outlook for myself and my family. Also gave me the tools to move forward.”
“I learned so much about the onset of illness, the issues families face in treatment, and advocacy for our loved ones.”
NAMI DuPage also has drop-in support groups at various locations. For more information call the NAMI DuPage office at (630) 752-0066, ext. 210, or visit www.namidupage.org.
