Energy Savings on Monday's D86 Board Agenda

The Committee of the Whole meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at Hinsdale South High School.

At Monday night's  Board of Education Committee of the Whole meeting at, the board will review the benefits of the district's participation in the Energy Education Program from October 2009 to January 2011.

According to the report, the district avoided $239,850.77 in energy costs during the above period when its expenses were put up against projected costs to the district had it not put the program in place.

"In the early months of  the program, energy savings and cost avoidance were relatively small when compared to the more recent months," agenda documents read. "This is primarily due to the gradual implementation of  the many energy savings and cost avoidance strategies of EEI [Energy Education, Inc.]."
