D181 Board to Discuss Negotiations During Closed Session

A special meeting will precede a normal Committee of the Whole meeting Monday night at Madison School.

Negotiations are on the agenda for private board discussion at a special meeting of the Community Consolidated School District 181 Board of Education Monday night.

The district and its teachers' union, the Hinsdale-Clarendon Hills Teachers' Association, . 

Before their regular Committee of the Whole meeting Monday at 7 p.m., board members will go into executive session at 6 p.m. to discuss, among other things, "Collective negotiating matters between the public body and its employees or their representatives, or deliberations concerning salary schedules for one or more classes of employees," according to the meeting's agenda, which can be viewed in full here

The current contract between the district and the teachers will expire Aug. 24.

According to the special meeting agenda, members of the public will have the opportunity to make comments to the board after members emerge from the executive session.

On the Committee of the Whole agenda:

  • District 181 communications director Rita DuChateau will present results of a survey of district parents and community members, which posed questions about, among other things, school safety and the ways the community gets its information about the district.
  • Superintendant Dr. Schuster will provide the strategic plan to achieve the district goals for 2011-12 adopted by the board.
