D181 Board Honors Retiring Staffer Ruth Skinner

The student information specialist is calling it a career after 28 years in education.

Retiring staff member Ruth Skinner was honored Dec. 12 at with a resolution in praise of her service to Community Consolidated School District 181. Board President Michael Nelson and Superintendent Renée Schuster presented Mrs. Skinner with a framed copy of the resolution and a small gift.

The resolution noted Mrs. Skinner’s 28-year career in education, which included teaching and administrative positions in technology at three private schools, including St. Vincent Ferrer in River Forest, and the position of student information specialist in District 181. The resolution lauded Mrs. Skinner’s love of challenges, expertise with software and hardware, her ability to explain technology’s intricacies and applications, her sense of humor, kindness, patience, devotion to family, as well as for her love of gardening.

Mrs. Skinner lives in Elmwood Park with her husband Glenn.
