Bears Chairman McCaskey Visits Madison School

The surprise visit included congratulations for NFL Punt, Pass & Kick national champ Luke Adams.

Chicago Bears chairman George McCaskey made a surprise visit to the second-grade class Tuesday morning to give kudos to second-grader Luke Adams, a national NFL Punt, Pass & Kick champion.

Standing next to Luke, 7, and his older brother Jake, 9, McCaskey said to the group of 75 students that Adams' success is the result of practice and teamwork.

"These guys practice and practice and practice, and the result is this guy's a national champion," McCaskey said.

The grandson of legendary Chicago Bears founder George Halas, McCaskey donned a red shirt to support District 181's Social Emotional Learning for Academic Success (SELAS) Week. At Madison, the week's theme is empathy.

Luke and Jake weren't the only gift recipients. McCaskey doled out Chicago Bears sports bags to every second-grade student. (Even one who was wearing a Green Bay Packers jersey.)
