Assisted Transition Encourages “Sharing” Hope This Season

Do you experience stress during the holiday season?  Planning dinners with family, getting your holiday cards out on time and getting all the baking and shopping done are just a few of the stressful things many people share this time of year.

Imagine in addition to all of those, you are also responsible for the care of an aging parent or loved one. It’s not easy to find a balance during the holidays with all there is to do.

Family caregivers experience a level of stress that some of us will never experience.

If you have been a caregiver for a loved one, you know this feeling well. Maybe you found a solution to your stress by finding resources to help your loved one. Whether you joined a support group to meet others going through this or if you found care options for the loved one you take care of, we ask for your help today.  We are sure there are many people living right here in the Chicago Western Suburbs that have wonderful experiences to share.

At one time you were dealing with your aging family member and maybe in some cases, your own children as well. You may have felt like there was no other option and no hope.  You were not taking care of yourself and you didn’t know where to begin to find relief.

If you have a story of hope regarding your care giving experience, we want to share your story with those struggling this holiday season. Remember the feeling of being a caregiver and feeling like no one understands?  Give the gift of hope this season and tell us about it. Together, we can give hope to those family caregivers who are struggling. We see families struggle on a daily basis who feel that they have nowhere to turn and no one to help them. Our senior advisors help them begin their journey to solutions and hope.

You can do the same by sharing your story.

Assisted Transition “Hope for the Holiday” Essay Contest is open to the public. We invite you to email your essay (300 words or less) to us at rgraffagna@assistedtransition.com by December 24th. If your essay is chosen, you will not only win a $50 gift card, but you will also help families across the country caring for aging loved ones.

We look forward to reading your stories and sharing them with those who truly need hope this season.
