Poll: Negative Ads Only Make a Small Dent in Bruce Rauner's Lead

A new We Ask America poll still has Bruce Rauner as the front-runner leading up to the March 18 Republican primary.

Over the past three weeks, forces aligned against Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Rauner have launched a barrage of anti-Rauner ads over the airwaves, on social media and in print.

A new poll shows that, overall, the public isn’t buying it.

We Ask America came out with a poll showing that, while the anti-Rauner ads made a small dent, Rauner still has a large lead over his rivals Bill Brady, Dan Rutherford and Kirk Dillard.

S: Its one thing to say Reboot Illinois is non-partisan, its another thing to demonstrate it. Reboot Illinois regularly expresses GOP sentiments and the Griffins and Crowns buy politicians like most of us buy a cup of coffee.

The class warriors are out. Reboot obviously presents nothing but GOP sentiments as in the recent debate over whether there should be a progressive income tax or a flat tax. The Democratic legislator supporting the progressive model must have been a shill for the GOP! Public employee unions and elected public officials are hogs at the trough getting their retirements at the ripe old age of 55, double dipping like Daley and agreeing with the idiots in Springfield to not fund the pension system. Voila, a pension mess. You can defend them all you want, and don't start whining about police and firefighters. Although my original post may not have specified, I am all in favor of first responders receiving a pension. The rest, including our beloved elected leaders, the real hogs at the trough, deserve to receive social security which they can start receiving at age 66 or whenever the current age provided by law kicks in, or at 62 with a reduced pension, like all of the rest of us. I am no out and out supporter of Rauner or any of the current runners. But Quinn, no way Jose. I may have to vote GOP by default.

Grumpy Old Man: The only part of your post that I agree with implicitly is that our elected leaders are the real hogs at the trough. OK, go back to bed, old-timer.

Reboot Illinois founder Anne Dias Griffin and her husband Kenneth, founder and chief executive of Citadel LLC, are among the largest donors to the Illinois Republican Party. The Griffins also have given approximately $1.5 million over time to David and Charles Koch's conservative causes, which operate under the umbrella Americans for Prosperity. Now, tell me again that Reboot Illinois is "non-partisan.
